At Sable Echelon Career Pathways, we believe education should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability, or learning style.

We are committed to meeting and exceeding WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards and providing specialized accommodations for diverse learners.

Conformance Status: WCAG 2.1 Level AA

Our platform conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This means we meet internationally recognized standards for making web content accessible to people with disabilities.

Visual Accessibility Features
  • Screen Reader Compatible: Full support for JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack
  • High Contrast Mode: Toggle high contrast themes for better visibility
  • Adjustable Font Sizes: Choose from 4 font size options (small, medium, large, extra large)
  • Color Contrast: All text meets WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Alt Text: All images have descriptive alternative text
  • Focus Indicators: Visible 3px outlines on all interactive elements
  • Zoom Support: Platform works at up to 200% zoom without breaking
Auditory Accessibility Features
  • Text-to-Speech: Lessons can be read aloud in the browser using the Web Speech API, with play, pause, sentence-by-sentence navigation and adjustable speed. Enable it under Accessibility Settings → “Enable audio narration of content”.
  • No Audio-Only Content: Every lesson is delivered as text, so no information is available only by listening.
  • Video Captions — not applicable yet: Our course content is currently text-based and contains no video or recorded audio. When video is introduced, captions will be required before it is published. We would rather state this plainly than claim captions for media that does not exist.
  • Pre-recorded narration — planned: Narration is generated by your browser today. Studio-quality recorded audio per lesson is planned but not yet available.
Motor/Physical Accessibility Features

  • Large Touch Targets: All buttons and links are at least 44x44 pixels
  • Skip Navigation: Jump to main content with one key press
  • Voice Control Compatible: Works with Dragon NaturallySpeaking and other voice input tools
  • No Time Limits: No timed sessions; take as long as you need

We go beyond standard accessibility to support neurodiverse learners, including those with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and other cognitive differences.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, we acknowledge some current limitations:

  • • Some third-party embedded videos may lack captions (we provide transcripts where possible)
  • • Complex data visualizations may be challenging for screen readers (we provide text alternatives)
  • • Real-time chat features may have delays with screen readers (we're working on improvements)
